Using 3D reconstructions, film footage, photographs, objects, and archaeological material, this exhibition charts the history of Waterlooplein. Once the heart of Amsterdam’s former Jewish district, the construction of a new city hall and opera house in the 1980s, a development that all but obliterated the former bustling Jewish district, completely transformed the area. Immortalised in song and image, both painted and photographed, over the years, learn all about the stories this area has to offer from the 17th century to the present day.
